Explore the tactile art of clay in our Hand Building Ceramics class at oUTSKIRT Studios in Lyman, Maine! Over 8 weeks, students of any experience level will learn to create functional and decorative pottery using handbuilding techniques such as coil, slab, pinch, and additive construction. This course emphasizes both technical skill and creative expression, allowing participants to craft unique bowls, planters, vases, tiles, and sculptural pieces.

What sets this class apart is its flexible, all-levels approach, making it ideal for beginners just starting with clay as well as experienced makers looking to experiment with new forms or surface techniques. Students will also explore surface design, texture, colored slips, and glazing, resulting in finished pieces that are both beautiful and functional.
