Like many other makers who struggle to make time for their creative outlets, oUTSKIRT Founders, Shannon Richards and Caleb Johnson, were looking for a studio space where they could get away from their busy lives. They wanted a space where they could dedicate time to their various crafts.
In the process of searching for an ideal space, they came across the old Cousen’s school in Lyman Maine. Their vision for a personal Studio quickly snowballed, and grew into a vision of building a community where creatives could come together.
Shannon and Caleb have worked hard to renovate the spaces of this beautiful school building. Our vision and goals continue to grow, and we are so excited to share them with the local arts community.
What is oUTSKIRT?
oUTSKIRT is a new artists and makers collaborative work space. Located in Lyman, ME, just 30 minutes from Portland in 15 minutes from Biddeford in the former Cousens School, we have 10,000 sq ft. of interior space on 6.999 acres of land.
A variety of studio spaces are now available to rent on a monthly basis - ceramics studio and classes coming soon!
